Jayne Cruttenden
Jayne is the founder and director of Beyond Function Occupational Therapy Services and graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy from Curtin University in 2003.
Jayne began her career working across a variety of acute clinical caseloads and community rehabilitation before moving into private work and gaining extensive experience with medico legal report writing and coordination of care and services for clients with complex needs.
In 2015 Jayne commenced work as a self-employed occupational therapist with Beyond Function Occupational Therapy Services being established in 2018 whilst living in Kalgoorlie. Jayne continues to work clinically in the medico legal field and also in the Goldfields region, predominately servicing National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) clients. She leads the Beyond Function team of 11 occupational therapists in both the Perth and Goldfields region. Jayne is committed to Beyond Function providing experienced, respectful and quality services to our clients.
Emma Willoughby
Emma graduated from The University of Wales in 2003 and has worked as an Occupational Therapist for more than 19 years.
Emma has worked with a diverse range of clients in her career. She is experienced working in aged care with expertise in orthopaedics, falls prevention and dementia or cognitive impairment. Emma also has expertise with lower limb amputees and with neurological conditions, specifically back pain management and prevention and other pain conditions. Emma has extensive experience with equipment provision and home assessment.
Emma is experienced in medico legal assessment and report writing. She works clinically with adult clients in the aged care and NDIS space in the Perth, Wheatbelt and Goldfields region.
Narelle Barr
Narelle graduated from Curtin University in 2003, and has worked as an Occupational Therapist for more than 19 years.
Narelle has worked in the community disability sector with both children and adults, and has worked in hospitals in Perth and New Zealand, working across the areas of acute medicine, emergency care, physical health, disability, neurosciences, home visiting and hand and upper limb therapy. She also has specialist experience working in the private sector in the field of hand and upper limb therapy, treating patients of all ages with acute and chronic upper limb injuries and needs.
Narelle works in the NDIS field providing services for upper limb amputees or clients with congenital limb differences, including prosthetics users. Narelle is also experienced in medico legal assessment with a special interest in upper limb and orthopaedic injury.
Heather
Heather has over 23 years of experience as an occupational therapist and has worked writing medico legal reports for Beyond Function since 2018.
Heather has extensive clinical experience with expertise and special interest in spinal cord injury and dust diseases.
Mandi Jacobs
Mandi graduated in 2014 from University of Pretoria with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
Mandi has considerable experience in adult physical rehabilitation, case management, mental health, neurological rehabilitation and paediatrics. Mandi has recent experience with National Disability Insurance scheme (NDIS) clients and equipment prescription.
Mandi has extensive medico legal assessment and report writing experience.
Special interest areas: Paediatrics, orthopaedics, neurological conditions.
Rama Young
Rama graduated from Curtin University in 2008 and has worked as an Occupational Therapist for 16 years.
Clinical positions include hospitals in Australia and the UK working within areas of mental health, neurological rehabilitation, falls and home assessments. He has a post graduate qualification in Sexology. He has vast experience as a Disability Support Pension Assessment Officer for Services Australia.
Special interest areas: Chronic pain, neurological conditions, mental health
Ingrid Wood
Ingrid graduated from Otago Polytechnics NZ with her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1997 with Merit.
Ingrid has worked in various Occupational Therapy areas including from paediatrics to older persons health. She has experience with multiple conditions including Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Head Injury, Para/Tetra/Quadriplegia, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Bipolar Disorder, Parkinson’s Disease, Arthritis, Traumatic Injuries, Cerebellar Vascular Accident, and problems with independent function due to the aging process.
Ingrid has significant experience prescribing home modifications and equipment DVA and aged care clients on Home Care packages. She is experienced in medico legal assessment.
Special interest areas: Aged care, chronic pain, orthopaedics, neurological conditions.
Karen Long
Karen graduated from Western Australian Institute of Technology in 1982 and has worked as an Occupation Therapist for more than 40 years.
Within that time Karen has worked in various hospitals both private and public in Australia and Europe, providing services to a range of areas including orthopaedics, general medicine, neurology, back pain, respiratory, home visiting, oncology and palliative care. She has a special interest in hand and upper limb injuries and conditions.
Karen has worked as a Senior Lecturer in various universities and recently worked as a Senior Technical Advisor for the NDIS reviewing applications for aids and funding.
Most recently, Karen is assessing and preparing medico legal reports with specialist knowledge on musculoskeletal conditions, brain injury and chronic disease. Karen also works as an Allied Health Assessor for Services Australia.
